They released two albums as SS Decontrol and later formally changed their name to SSD. 16th SS Panzergrenadier Division Reichsführer-SS - 16th SS Panzergrenadier Division Reichsführer-SS was formed Nov 1943 when Sturmbrigade Reichsführer-SS was upgraded to a division when volksdeutsche were added to the units. Allgemeine-SS - The Allgemeine-SS was the name for the "General SS" (as in 'generic' or 'basic' SS) which consisted of part-time mustering SS formations created under the Nazi Party between 1925 and 1945. The term Allgemeine-SS came into being to separate the Waffen-SS (Armed SS) from the General SS. SS-Hauptamt - The SS-Hauptamt (translated as "SS Head Office") was the central command office of the German Schutzstaffel (SS). The office can trace its origins to 1931 when the SS created the SS-Amt to serve as an SS Headquarters staff overseeing the various units of the Allgemeine-SS.
